Freej Swaileh

Freej Swaileh is a Kuwaiti restaurant in Jahra, spread over several floors of its own building with escalators between them. The décor draws on old Kuwait: signposts named after old neighbourhoods, wooden arched booths with coloured glass, chandeliers built from tea glasses, and a red vintage pickup parked outside.

A sign on the wall invites diners to eat the traditional dishes by hand. The menu runs from Kuwaiti home cooking to grills, including mixed grill platters and soup served in a bread bowl.
